The southwest has become a Mecca for small camper conversion companies with the excellent weather and surf dude lifestyle it’s not difficult to see why. We are sure that anyone attempting to set up a company in this challenging industry would do so with all the best intentions, However not intentionally we have come across many individuals who have had a variety of unfortunate situations with various small converters. Listed below are some simple checks you can make before instructing a converter and to protect yourself as much as possible, it is our opinion that your converter needs the following to meet the standards expected in this demanding industry,

3. The national magazines and UK motor home show circuit

4. Glasses guide for their conversion models (a brand name i.e. TORBAY helps with resale)

Insurance

1. The converter should have insurance for your vehicle whilst he is working on it. (Public and Product liability)

2. The converter should also have liability insurance in case something they do damages the vehicle or injures any person as a result of the work they carried out.

The converter should have the following Workshop facilities

1. Metal fabrication and welding workshop

2. Wood/Cabinet making Workshop

3. Upholstery and trimming Workshop
